Skeel Lee

AI Filmmaker | VFX Artist

I've always been passionate about filmmaking. Beyond simply watching films, I've always been fascinated by how they're crafted. From cinematography and editing to visual effects (VFX) and storytelling, I enjoy understanding the creative decisions that bring a story to life.

That passion led me into feature-film VFX, where I spent more than a decade contributing to major blockbuster movies. Today, I apply my VFX experience to AI filmmaking. AI is opening up exciting new creative possibilities, enabling creators to explore ambitious ideas, while still drawing on the same filmmaking craft behind every great story.

Experience

13 years of feature-film VFX experience

Before moving into AI filmmaking, I worked in VFX on feature films at leading VFX studios. That experience taught me to think beyond the tools and focus on what truly matters: strong storytelling, compelling visuals, and the craftsmanship behind every frame.

Philosophy

Filmmaking first, AI second

Filmmaking has always evolved through new technology. Editing moved from film to digital. VFX transformed how stories could be told. Today, AI is opening another chapter in that evolution.

Craft Before Technology

Great filmmaking begins with story, emotion, and purpose. AI is a powerful creative tool, but it works best when guided by filmmaking principles rather than prompts alone.

VFX Thinking

My background in feature-film VFX continues to shape how I approach AI filmmaking. Production thinking, visual problem-solving, and attention to detail help transform AI-generated ideas into polished cinematic work.

Embracing Change

Filmmaking has never stood still, and neither do I. I enjoy exploring new technologies, new production methods, and new storytelling formats while staying grounded in the principles that make great films timeless.

The technology and format may evolve, but the craft doesn't.

What I do

Creating, Collaborating, Sharing

Whether it's creating original AI films, collaborating on productions, advising creative teams, or sharing practical filmmaking techniques, my work is centred on creating cinematic experiences while helping others explore the possibilities of AI filmmaking.

AI Films

I create original AI films and cinematic experiments that explore what's possible when filmmaking principles meet modern AI tools.

Collaborations

I collaborate on commercials, short films and creative projects that combine cinematic storytelling with AI-assisted production.

Consulting

I help creators and teams adopt practical AI filmmaking workflows without losing sight of the creative process.

Workshops

I share practical approaches to AI filmmaking built on filmmaking fundamentals rather than tool-specific tricks.
